Located in the Stags Leap district of Napa Valley in California, the Stags Leap Wine Cellar was established during 197o by William Winiarski. He may be one of California’s most well-known figures, but Warren Winiarski is a difficult man to track down. 2014-10-14 In 1970, Winiarski and some investors purchased an old prune orchard off the Silverado Trail, a few miles north of Napa in what is now known as the Stags Leap District American Viticultural Area.
