Bock Beer A strong, fairly sweet, malty amber to brown lager, originating in Saxony, dating back to Hanseatic brewers in Einbeck during the 14th century. It’s thought that Bock is either a corruption of Einbeck (‘a bock’) or that it’s named after the German for ‘goat’ (you’ll often see goats featuring on labels).
